PSV head coach Guus Hiddink announced at the post-match press conference that his side with so many experienced players should never have given away a 1-3 lead. RKC coach Adri Koster said he looked back at the game with mixed feelings. "Early Santa Claus celebrations""An eight-goal thriller, the crowd went wild, a fine an exciting game. All the ingredients were there. But when we were 1-3 on top, we should have wrapped up things", explained Hiddink at the post match press conference "First the score line was 1-3, then we were trailing and in the end we managed to snatch a draw; so there is enough to reflect on. We started the Santa Claus celebrations far too early and gave away presents for too easily. We are an experienced side and we have proved we can hold our own on the European stage, so we should never have allowed them to come from behind." But Hiddink also praised RKC Waalwijk for their strong points "They are good at set pieces. We offered them the opportunities and they gladly took them. They gained self confidence when we handed them our presents. All in all I feel we have dropped two points." Adri Koster"I would gladly have accepted a 4- 4 draw ahead of the game, but I would like to start my analysis differently, following the incredible closing stages of this game. My team showed resilience and belief. We fought our way back in the game in a great way and my players deserve praise for that. But it’s too bad we could not finish the game in style", and he added: "We must make progress in that respect. That’s why I have mixed feelings. But I cannot but agree with my colleague Guus Hiddink when he said that the crowd had had a most memorable, enjoyable evening."
