PSV have dropped two points for the third time this season in an away game. Jefferson Farfán put the champions 3-1 up by scoring a hat trick, but in the end PSV were lucky to snatch a late gasp draw. RobertSubstitute Robert scored the equalizer in the very last minute. RKC Waalwijk gave their all, worked hard and although they were trailing 1-3, they deservedly claimed a draw. When Alex played the ball straight to Rick Hoogendorp ten minutes from final time, the RKC striker did not fail and the hosts seemed to have grabbed all three points. Robert then spared PSV’s blushes on a night when RKC Waalwijk deserved all credits for a courageous and wonderful display. PSV last drew a game in August, when they shared spoils away against Heracles (1-1). The Eindhoven outfit only conceded five goals this campaign, but the number of goals conceded was almost doubled on a cold night in Waalwijk.Rick HoogendorpReferee Roelof Luinge officiated at an Eredivisie game for the six hundredth time in his career and it turned out to be an action packed game. The team coached by Adri Koster was not inferior to the ruling champions, whose most dangerous forward was undoubtedly Farfán. When PSV had possession, RKC were well organized. Ibrahim Afellay was not given any space in midfield and at the other end De Ceulaer was very impressive. Man of the match, however, was Rick Hoogendorp. He scored a double and produced the assist for yet another goal. PSV had a bright start. Jefferson Farfán lashed unto a long ball delivered by captain André Ooijer on fourteen minutes. The Peruvian forward controlled well and finished clinically: 0-1. It was a short-lived lead, for two minutes later RKC were on level terms again. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink failed to clear a corner and Benjamin de Ceulaer unleashed a superb shot; 1-1. Guus Hiddink, who took charge as PSV head coach for the 250th time, guided his side to a 1-2 lead at half time. Theo Lucius, who was included in the starting line-up as he had recovered from an injury, delivered a sharp cross. The RKC defence did not clear well and Farfán scored from close range on the verge of half time. AlexPSV though they had wrapped up the game soon after the restart. Michael Lamey fed Farfán, who scored his third goal of the night. Not many teams have to belief to get back in contention when two goals down, but. RKC refused to throw in the towel. Rick Hoogendorp blasted a free kick from some 25 yards into the roof of the net on 65 minutes and the home crowd went wild when Stephan Keller leveled the score by prodding home a Hoogendorp cross from close range; 3-3. The Mandemakers Stadium even erupted in joy on 81 minutes, when Alex passed the ball straight at Hoogendorp. The RKC top scorer did not hesitate and PSV goalie Gomes was beaten for the fourth time. As put above, Robert salvaged a point by firing home a well-placed effort from just outside the area, but RKC deserved all praise.PSV will now focus on the Champions League group stage return leg, away against Schalke, next Wednesday night.
