Archie Thompson has been included in the twenty-man provisional squad for Sunday afternoon's league clash, away against ADO Den Haag. The game in the Zuiderpark Stadium will be kicked off at 12:30. One goalkeeper and one player will be dropped from the squad after the Saturday training session.Doubts The Australian forward Archie Thompson has been named for the squad for the first time since he arrived in Eindhoven. Some players are doubtful and after the Saturday afternoon training, scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 15: 00, it will be announced which players are called up for the definitive squad. Edwin Zoetebier is fighting a back problem; Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has hamstring complaints and Ibrahim Afellay is also doubtful. Simons, though, is match-fit again; the Flemish player in Eindhoven service has recovered from an upper leg injury that ruled him out of last weekend’s game. CircumstancesThe expected massive arrival of representatives of the British press failed to materialize this Friday morning. The weekly media briefing was just business as usual, and only one reporter had crossed the Channel. Hiddink presented a team news update and added he was delighted Thompson has been included in the squad. "He has pace, is skilful and has lots of stamina."Hiddink is not anticipating a "beautiful game" in the Den Haag, in particular as there is no undersoil heating system installed at the Zuider Park Stadium. He emphasized that the circumstances could be very hard on Sunday afternoon.Hiddink also briefly referred to the development of some youngsters. He mentioned e.g. the name of Roy Beerens, the young forward, who has been joining the regular first team squad players for full training since last summer. "He is working hard and knows what he is doing, so loaning him to another club would be out of the question."Training at 15:00So the squad will train one more time and will then leave for the west of Holland to prepare for another crucial game. Referee Temmink abandoned last season’s encounter on eighty minutes, as he was fed up with the continuous verbal abuse and chanting from the home fans. PSV were 0-2 on top when the game was abandoned, thanks to a Johan Vonlanthen double. Later the Dutch Football Association announced that the score-so-far was the final score, so that PSV had eventually grabbed all three points in Den Haag. PSV enjoyed a 3-0 win over ADO Den Haag in this season’s reverse encounter in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium.
