The fraternization ahead of the HFC-PSV memorial game was almost tangible. Guus Hiddink thought it was 'really great' that both clubs would meet for a memorial game after 35 years. Klaus UrbanczykFormer player Klaus Urbanczyk was also behind the desk in the Kurt Wabbel Stadium press room. He got badly wounded during the hotel fire in Eindhoven, but he managed to save people from the flames. Urbanczyk was grateful PSV paid a visit to Halle after all those years. "I cherish great memories of the 0-0 draw here; it was a good game." Urbanczyk also thanked ‘our PSV Eindhoven friends’ for the way they took care of the people that got injured during the fire in the autumn of 1971. "They have worried about us for weeks and they helped us rehabilitate. I thought that was wonderful." FriendshipGuus Hiddink thought it was 'a very good idea' for PSV to have travelled to Halle. "It is obviously very sad we should have come here at all. But it is important to keep the memories alive and we should have a party tonight in a spirit of friendship", felt Hiddink. Beside him was Willy van der Kuylen, who was brought on as a substitute in Halle fifteen minutes from final time 35 years ago, when Hiddink taken off. “We had kept it a secret. We were to play him the return leg at home. But usually I would leave the bench to take over from Willy”, smiled Hiddink.
