Otman BakkalThe Dutch team earned some good opportunities in the initial stages, but the Portuguese gradually took control. On the hour mark RKC Waalwijk defender Dusty Mulder was dismissed, following a second yellow card. Portugal did not take advantage of the numerical advantage, though, but Holland broke the deadlock, when they were down to ten men. PSV forward, Otman Bakkal, on loan with FC Eindhoven, evaded the offside trap and rounded the goalkeeper before prodded the ball into the empty goal. Coach Van Zwam admitted his team had been fortunate. "It was a tough game and we did not take our own skills for granted. We were outclassed by the Portuguese at times”, announced the coach on the KNVB official website. The Dutch Olympic football team will now meet France in the final on Wednesday. France and Holland drew 1-1 during the group stages.
