Marco van Basten, coach of the Dutch national team, has called up Nigel de Jong and Stijn Schaars to the World Cup training camp in Hinterzarten after all.Van Basten has placed them on standby as a precautionary measure, in case any of the injured players in the Dutch squad should fail to recover in time. InjuriesDe Jong and Schaars may be called up for the squad later this week, if any of the injured players in the Dutch squad are not fit enough to compete in the World Cup. Giovanni van Bronckhorst (ankle), Phillip Cocu (upper leg), Kew Jaliens (cut), Wesley Sneijder (ankle) and Rafael van der Vaart (ankle) are all fighting injuries. The two defenders Jaliens and Van Bronckhorst should be fit for the opening game, but the midfield trio is doubtful. SundayNetherlands will open their World Cup campaign on Sunday against Serbia & Montenegro on Sunday. Van Basten can replace injured players up to 24 hours before the campaign begins.
