Ji-Sung Park rendered South Korea a great service by scoring a late goal, the Socceroos, coached by Guus Hiddink put in a fine performance against Brazil, DaMarcus Beasley and the other players of Team USA fought like lions and Ghana, who had included Addo in their starting line-up, defeated the Czech Republic. Ji-Sung ParkSouth Korea pulled off a stunning result against France. Former PSV coach Dick Advocaat guided his team to a 1-1 draw, thanks to a goal scored by Ji-Sung Park in the closing stages. South Korea have now earned four points from their two group games and are still in contention of reaching the next phase. Park was named Most Valuable Player. France are in danger of crashing out of the World Cup, just like four years ago. They need a win against Togo next Friday to avoid an early elimination. South Korea took some risks against South Korea in the final stages of the game and were rewarded for their attacking ideas by the equalizer, scored by Park.Guus Hiddink and Jason Culina still have a chance of qualifying for the next round. Although Australia suffered a 2-0 defeat against ruling champions Brazil, they could take great heart from the game, Substitute Fred put the result beyond doubt only in the final miutes. Austrlalia need a draw in their final group game in order to go through, unless Japan earn a shock victory over Brazil. The Brazilians have sealed a place in the last sixteen. Australia beat Japan 3-1 in their opening game. DaMarcus BeasleyThree players were sent off during the Italy- USA clash (1-1), which equals a World Cup record. It was the fourth time nineteen players were on the pitch when the final whistle went. The Italians and Americans played a physical game: Daniele De Rossi was shown a red card for an elbow and the American Pablo Mastroeni was dimissed for a vicious tackle. USA player Eddie Pope was sent off, following two bookable offences.. PSV substitute DaMarcus Beasley thought he had scored the winning goal, but it did not stand as Mc Bride was in an offside position.By earning the first African victory (a 2-0 win over the Czech Republic), Ghana broke their Group wide open.
