PSV head coach Ronald Koeman emphasized at the post match press conference that the game in Tilburg was virtually wrapped up at half time. "The second half was not as entertaining as the first period, as we had actually killed off the game after forty-five minutes." "Attractive first half"Koeman thought the first period was quite entertaining. "We had a good start, although we were one goal down soon. We fought back well and leveled the score from a free kick that we had practised at training this week. Farfán wrapped up victory in first half added time with a third goal and the second half was not really attractive. We could have scored a few more goals, but we took it easy and did not pass the ball around quickly enough. Yet I am content with the result. We fielded some new players and the partners in the heart of defence played together for the first time, as Alex was absent. So I think we did well tonight."Koeman was delighted with the fine performance Mendez had put in. "He is eager, shows passion and aggression and kicks the ball well. He is a good bloke and he was of added value tonight." "Gross individual errors"Willem II coach Dennis van Wijk was disappointed that his team had made too many individual errors. "I think our biggest opponent is ourselves right now. We played good football, but we made some very costly mistakes. PSV could score two goals, following two gross individual errors on our side", concluded Van Wijk.
