Ronald Koeman thought 0-0 was the 'right result'. "Heerenveen were the better side in the first period; we found it hard to cope with their way game plan, but dominated the game after the break", said the PSV head coach. "Our team was not well-balanced: we played four defenders against two forwards, so we were outclassed in midfield and could not dominate the game. We made some changes at half time and then we started to take control. We obviously missed a player like Cocu, who can read the game", remarked Koeman at the post-match press conference. He thought the goalless draw was the right result. He had selected Roy Beerens, as Diego Tardelli had sustained a minor injury. "Tardelli was not completely fit and I wanted to see Roy in action. I thought he was sharp and he was a constant menace with his pace. He was tired at the end, but that didn’t come as a surprise." sc Heerenveen coach Gertjan Verbeek agreed completely with Koeman and also thought all in all the 0-0 draw was the right result. "We were the better side in the first half, but when Cocu and Culina had been brought on, PSV gained the upper hand. I think we fully deserved a share of the points. We put in a spirited performance as a team and put pressure on PSV. We played our passing game and combined well, but we did not finish adequately. We would have loved to win the game and did our best to grab all three points. But it was not to be and I think a draw with PSV is a fair result after all. I am proud of my players."
