The Turkish sports papers obviously pay much attention to tonight's game. The message is quite clear: Galatasaray need a win; if not, it’s all over for Erik Gerets' team. Sükür and Sas ruled outAll papers report that Hakan Sükür is ruled out of tonight’s game. The Koning did not meet expectations last weekend during a domestic league game and will start on the bench tonight. Hasan Sas, Galatasaray’s other star player, will not start, either. 19-year-old Arda is expected to make a major contribution, though, according to Fanatik. The morning paper also informs its readers that Arouna Koné is in great shape and encourages Galatasaray with the large heading Go Lions Go! They also make it clear that PSV would not have stood any chance of success, if the game had taken place in familiar territory, the Ali Sami Yen. The atmosphere in the Atatürk Olympic Stadium is quite different, they conclude.’Wounded lion’Morning paper Fotospor even refers to the Turkish War of Independence. Anything but a win will do. The sports writer of the daily paper Fotomaç thinks Galatasaray will be offered a ‘final chance’ and he is apparently not too fond of Erik Gerets. ‘We will pull off a win, in spite of Gerets’, and he adds ‘We are like a wounded lion, but we shall win. All’s well that ends well.’Zaman is less outspoken. The religious morning paper fully supports Hakan Sükür, who is a devout believer himself. Even though he is not likely to start, they honour the experienced striker by portraying him on two full pages.
