PSV coach Ronald Koeman announced at the post-match press conference that his side had proved to be 'clinical finishers'. "The final score, a 7-0 win, says it all. I think we put in an excellent first half display", said Koeman. "We put in an excellent first half display. We passed the ball around well and were clinical finishers. That’s why we had already wrapped up the game in the early stages. I hoped we could continue in the same spirit after the break, but we played a low-tempo game for the first 25 minutes. The game sparked into life once again, after we had made three substitutions. In the end we earned a 7-0 win, which says it all."Koeman hailed Arouna Koné’s performance. "Just look at what he did the past two games. What else can you demand from him as a striker?" Sparta coach Wiljan Vloet only commented briefly on his side’s mauling. "We have suffered defeat; actually it was game, set and match after five minutes. We didn’t stand a single chance. We knew we would face an uphill battle. We hoped to get a result here, but our hopes were soon dashed and we have been dealt a major blow. That’s all I have to say."
