PSV organised an anti-racism day at Wednesday night’s home match against Sparta Rotterdam. They took a stand and joined the FARE Action Week for the fourth time. The match day programme featured a special on the fight against racism; captain Phillip Cocu read a letter with an anti-racism message and the teams of PSV and Sparta posed for a picture, showing a banner against racism. Football Against Racism in EuropeFARE, Football Against Racism in Europe, aims to rid the game of racism by combining the resources of anti-racist football organisations throughout Europe. Phoxy Club player-escort children were wearing sporting Unite Against Racism T-shirts when they entered the pitch together with the players last night. A video message was shown on the large screens in the Philips Stadium, on which PSV captain Phillip Cocu read a letter with an anti-racism message. The teams of PSV and Sparta, the referee and his assistants posed for a picture, showing a banner against racism. PSV would like to thank all their fans for their interest and intend to continue to stress the importance of this issue.
