PSV head coach Ronald Koeman announced at the media briefing that he has not called up Phillip Cocu to face Vitesse in Thursday night’s cup tie. The PSV captain is not fully fit and will be rested. Defender Michael Lamey has been added to the squad. Koeman has not made any more changes to the side that saw off NAC Breda last weekend, so Roy Beerens has again received a call-up. "Cocu is not fully fit, so he is rested. Of course we want to reach the next round as we want to lift as many trophies as possible. So I certainly do not want to imply that we don’t take the Dutch Cup campaign seriously. After all I won’t be resting five players. But then again, we won’t take any unnecessary risks, either. The Ajax game is at the back of our minds."Koeman presumes Cocu will start against Ajax on Sunday. "I also expect Manuel da Costa to have returned to full fitness by the weekend; Diego Tardelli is the only player in doubt with an ankle problem." Koeman did not say which player would fill in for Cocu. "Väyrynen is an option, but so are Aissati and Culina, who deserve playing time in view of their excellent performances." Patrick KluivertMedia representatives also inquired Patrick Kluivert and wanted to know when he will stage a comeback. “I don’t know. He joined us for a practise game at training yesterday, which is not enough to call him up for an official game. We will have to wait and see how he recovers from the physically demanding training sessions the next few days, before we will take a decision to call him up. When he has returned to full fitness, I will include him in the first team squad straightaway. It’s no use calling him up for Young PSV games first”, explained Koeman.
