Next month PSV will fly to England for the third time this season, after having been drawn against Liverpool in the Champions League quarter final. Ronald Koeman was slightly disappointed that PSV have been paired with Liverpool again. “We have already played Liverpool twice this season and somehow it takes away the pleasure, now that we have already progressed through the group stages and the First Knockout round”, he said, when asked for a first reaction.
“There are no easy games in the quarter finals, but I would have preferred to have been drawn to play another club, as we have already met Liverpool in the group stages. They will not underestimate us nor take things for granted. They have seen us in action against Arsenal after all”, said Koeman at De Herdgang. “Liverpool are well-organized and field quality players such as Gerrard. They are a mentally strong team, judging from the 2-1 win, away against FC Barcelona. We will be facing a tough challenge, but we are also going to enjoy ourselves. It is great to participate in the Champions League.”
