Youth player Género Zeefuik was on the training pitch, together with Ronald Koeman’s first team squad. The PSV junior took part in all exercises and a practice game. Zeefuik, a Netherlands U17 international, joined PSV last season and is generally regarded as a most talented player.
16-year-old Zeefuik, who started his career at the Ajax Youth Academy, made a move from FC Omniworld to PSV last summer. He has made appearances for the highest junior team and has been called up to the Young PSV squad a few times as well. PSV head coach Ronald Koeman invited him to join the first-team squad for training for the first time. The forward, who is physically strong, partnered Patrick Kluivert at the passing and finishing exercise. Zeefuik, who was born on 5 April 1990 and will consequently celebrate his seventeenth birthday next week, scored the winning goal in Netherlands’ U17 1-0 win over Turkey U17 last week, sealing a place in UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Belgium.
