Many fans and media representatives alike had come to the Herdgang training ground on Friday morning to see the PSV first-team squad in action at the last training session but one, ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Eredivisie game at the Philips Stadium against Vitesse. PSV coach Ronald Koeman will have a near full-strength squad to choose from.
PSV are not masters of their own fate any longer, after their dreams to claim their sixth title in eight years were cruelly shattered at the Galgenwaard Stadium in Utrecht last Sunday. All Sunday’s Eredivisie games kick off at 14:30, so at about 16.15 it will be known which Dutch club will have clinched the title. AZ, Ajax and PSV, level on 72 points, all vie for the title, but AZ have a superior goal difference, while PSV are the only title contenders that play at home.
