Ronald Koeman nominated for Rinus Michels Award. (PSV.nl)

PSV head coach Ronald Koeman has been nominated for the Rinus Michels Award that will be presented at the international congress of professional football coaches in Tilburg on 9 June. Koeman is one of the four nominees; Henk ten Cate, Louis van Gaal and former PSV coach Fred Rutten are also in contention for the prestigious prize. The PSV Youth Academy has also received a nomination. Koeman guided PSV to their twentieth Dutch title and the Champions League quarterfinal’s after knocking out Arsenal, among other teams. All the head coaches in Dutch professional football will be allowed to give their votes to one of the four nominees at the international congress for football coaches on 9 June next in order to choose the best coach of the 2006-2007 season. At the congress the winner for the best Youth Academy will also be announced. Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV have been nominated for the award.
