PSV will take part in the UEFA Champions League for the twelfth time next season, and the eleventh time in succession. The club is rewarded for all their achievements with a place among the European elite, for only two clubs in Europe have competed more times in Europe’s most prestigious tournament.
Sixteen clubs The full list of clubs for the 2007-08 UEFA Champions League has been confirmed with Real Madrid being crowned champions in Spain on Sunday and FC Barcelona finishing second in the. Sixteen clubs have already ensured automatic qualification for the tournament. Sixteen more clubs, including Ajax, may qualify for the group stages of the main tournament through the qualifying rounds. So PSV are in good company, for only Manchester United and FC Porto have taken part in the Champions League more times than PSV. The English and Portuguese top club have participated thirteen times altogether. PSV will take their tally to twelve next season, taking part for the eleventh time in succession. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and AC Milan will also compete for the twelfth time. PSV have earned a place among Europe’s elite, which will enhance the reputation of the tournament organised in Moscow at the beginning of August, where hosts Lokomotiv Moscow welcome PSV, AC Milan and Real Madrid.
