The clubs attach their names and brands to a race team, which will operate independently under the colours of the Superleague Formula. The clubs signed up to the project, giving Superleague Formula their full support and backing, which offers them revenue through licensing agreements, sponsorship and TV rights in exchange for the brand. Superleague Formula will see twenty cars compete against one another in August 2008 for the first time. There will be six races in the first season, all of them at the top circuits in Europe. The idea is to expand gradually to a maximum of seventeen races in future years to take the championship closer to all the club fans that are contesting the championship in Europe, South America and Asia. All teams that compete in the Superleague Formula will use identical cars and technologies, including a V12-engine. The racing cars will be able to hold their own with the best racing cars from the top competitions, as far as speed and performance are concerned. As all cars will be similar from a technical point of view, the emphasis will be firmly placed on each driver’s contribution, skill and ability. PSV Media were at the Superleague Formula head quarters in Barcelona the other day and took some exclusives photos. Have a close look at the PSV racing car.
