Monaco ready for Champions League group stage draw (PSV.nl)

Tonight the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League group stage draw will take place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. PSV are the only Dutch participant, after Ajax were knocked out by SK Slavia Prague in the third qualifying round on Wednesday evening. The draw, which will be attended by, among other persons, PSV head coach Ronald Koeman, will be made at 18.00CET.

Ajax will compete in the UEFA Cup tournament, following a double defeat against Slavia Prague in the third qualifying round. They Amsterdam outfit suffered a 1-0 defeat at home and were beaten 2-1 on their travels last night. Slavia will make their debut in the world's most prestigious football tournament.
Also in the draw are Sevilla FC and AEK Athens FC, who play the second leg of their tie next Monday after a postponement due to the tragic death of Sevilla player Antonio Puerta on Tuesday.
The seedings for the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League group stage have been announced. PSV are among the second pot of seeds, just like they were last season, and will not be drawn against the likes of Valencia, Olympique Lyon, FC Porto, Sevilla/AEK Athens, AS Roma, Benfica and Werder Bremen. Last season's winners AC Milan and runners-up Liverpool are named among the eight top seeds in the group stage draw.
PSV head coach Ronald Koeman will attend tonight's draw in Monaco. He will present the prize to the best defender of the Champions League 2006-2007 campaign. Koeman has announced he feels honoured by the invitation. After the draw the fixture schedule will be announced.
Pot 1:
AC Milan, FC Barcelona, Liverpool, Internazionale, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Pot 2:
Valencia, Olympique Lyon, FC Porto, Sevilla/AEK Athens, PSV, AS Roma, Benfica and Werder Bremen.
Pot 3:
Celtic FC, FC Schalke 04, Vfb Stuttgart, FC Steaua Bucharest, CSKA Moscow, Sporting Lisbon, S.S. Lazio Roma and Olympique Marseille.
Pot 4:
Rangers FC, FC Shaktar Donetsk, Besiktas JK, Olympiakos Piraeus, FC Dynamo Kiev, Fenerbahçe SK, Slavia Prague and Rosenborg.
