The Dutch Olympic football team started their campaign for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games brightly, after they thrashed Scotland Under-21 4-0 in a friendly in Roosendaal on Tuesday night. Coach Foppe de Haan had made two changes from the Holland Under-21 team that beat Estonia 3-0 in a Euro 2009 qualifying match last week.
Otman Bakkal , who is too old to feature in Holland Under-21, was handed a start, along with FC Twente player Wout Brama van FC Twente. The Dutch constantly put pressure on Scotland and outclassed their opponents from start to finish.
After fifteen minutes Bruins drove home a right-footed shot from 20 yards and Holland doubled their lead after 72 minutes when Bruins scored with another long-range strike. Five minutes later Bakkal made it three when he connected with a corner and substitute Leroy George finished the rout with one minute to go.
