The Netherlands coach Marco van Basten has named his 24-man squad for the UEFA European 2008 qualifying games against Luxemburg and Belarus. PSV striker Danny Koevermans has received an invitation, along with the former PSV defenders Wilfred Bouma and André Ooijer, but former PSV target man Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who has returned to full fitness, has not been called up to the squad.

Feyenoord left back Tim de Cler has been recalled for the first time since last June, but Arsenal forward Robin van Persie and Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben are unavailable for the two qualifiers through injuries.
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was not called up to the provisional squad, because he had sustained an injury. The tall Cercle frontman has meanwhile returned to full fitness, but Van Basten has not named him in his final 24-man squad.
If the Dutch team takes all three points against Luxembourg on 17 November, they will have sealed their place at the Euro 2008. Should they fail to do so, they can make amends in their final game against Belarus in Minsk four days later.
Netherlands squad:
Goalkeepers: Edwin van der Sar (Manchester United, England), Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax) and Henk Timmer (Feyenoord)
