Ibrahim Afellay en Jason Culina and are both unavailable for Sunday's clash with AZ. The two midfielders are building up their match fitness, but will not return to action until after the international break. Defender Eric Addo returns to the squad, while Edison Méndez is suspended.

Caretaker coach Jan Wouters announced at the weekly media briefing at De Herdgang training centre on Friday afternoon that he expects a good entertaining game for the fans. The PSV first-team squad trained on Friday morning in a relaxed atmosphere. They will also train on Saturday morning to prepare for Sunday's game at home against AZ. Tommie van der Leegte is a doubt, after he picked up a knock on his back during the UEFA Champions League encounter with Fenerbahçe. His back is still heavily bruised. Méndez is suspended after he had been sent off in the closing stages of the game against Heerenveen last weekend and Eric Addo returns to the squad.
Some football writers have paid attention to problems within the squad, following the two successive defeats against sc Heerenveen and Fenerbahçe, but Wouters begs to differ. 'Only one point separates us from leaders Ajax and Feyenoord. We suffered defeat against sc Heerenveen, who are formidable opponents, and we were also left empty-handed in Istanbul, but we should try to see things in perspective. I don't think there are many reasons to bring about changes.' When asked if Koevermans, who has again been called up to the Netherlands squad, was anxious to make an impact against his former club AZ, Wouters did not commit himself. 'It is always special to meet your former team mates. Danny is always anxious to put in a spirited display, so Sunday won't be any different in that respect.'
