No fewer than ten PSV players will be away on international duty with their respective national squads to play a number of international games.
In Europe qualifying games for the UEFA 2008 European championship have been scheduled, while the focus in South America is already on the World Cup 2010 qualifiers, with the Ecuador/Mendez v Peru/Farfán clash next week as eye-catcher.
Striker Danny Koevermans will report for duty with the Netherlands squad in Noordwijk today to start preparing for the UEFA EURO 2008â„¢ qualifiers against Luxembourg at the Rotterdam Kuip on Saturday and Belarus in Minsk four days later. Dirk Marcellis has been called up to the Netherlands Under-21 squad to face Macedonia in a Euro 2009 qualifier in Nijmegen on Friday, while the Olympic team, with Marcellis, Ismail Aissati and Otman Bakkal, will meet on Tuesday to prepare for Friday's friendly with Rumania in Venlo.

Many internationals have been scheduled in South America as well. Ecuador, with Edison Méndez, who had a lucky escape after their plane had landed awkwardly, will travel to Paraguay in a World Cup 2010 qualifier on Saturday and play host to Peru, with Jefferson Farfán, four days later. Peru will also entertain Brazil, on Sunday.
Mexico do not play any international matches, as they are not included in the South American group, so Carlos Salcido will not be away on international duty. The same goes for Ghana, so defender Eric Addo will stay in Eindhoven.
Also on Euro qualification is PSV captain Timmy Simons. Belgium's hopes of qualifying for UEFA EURO 2008â„¢ have been scattered, but they face two tough away games against Poland and Azerbaijan on Saturday and Wednesday respectively.
Finland, with Mika Väyrynen, also meet Azerbaijan, on Saturday and travel to Portugal on Wednesday. Danko Lazovic, whose Serbia are in the same group as Finland and Belgium, first meet Kazakhstan in Belgrade on Saturday, before coming up against Poland, coached by Leo Beenhakker, the following midweek.
At Under-21 level, Lazovic's countryman Slobodan Rajkovic will start for Serbia Under-21, who travel to Belarus on Saturday.
