The 'Scoring for Health' project was kicked off enthusiastically by a hundred primary school children from Eindhoven. Along with the two ambassadors, Tommie van der Leegte and John de Jong, they promised to lead a healthy life for the next twenty weeks.
The children took part in an exercise clinic and a fitness- and health test at De Herdgang training ground on Wednesday morning. Then they signed a contract with the football players in which they stated that they will adhere to the 20-week project programme. Several issues such as exercise and healthy nutrition will be discussed and promoted at school. The children conclude the project with a second fitness and health test and receive a certificate and a medal.
Scoring for Health is an initiative of the Eredivisie CV, their social partner the Sponsor Lottery, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports, the NIGZ (Netherlands Institute for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention) and the Association 'More than Football', in which football players of the Dutch Eredivisie promote a healthy lifestyle among primary school.
