Danko Lazovic is set to be included in the PSV squad for Saturday's Eredivisie game against Excelsior in Rotterdam. The outcome of the UEFA Euro final qualifying Group A match between Serbia and Kazakhstan, scheduled for Saturday 24 November in Belgrade at 18.00 local time, is no longer relevant after Portugal qualified for next summer's finals in Austria and Switzerland last night. That's why UEFA has made it clear to the Serbia and Kazakhstan national associations that there is no obligation for clubs to release players for Saturday's match. Serbia now intend to field a youthful team.
Lazovic is expected to return to Holland on Thursday at 3.30 p.m. PSV at first thought Lazovic would stay away longer with reference to the postponed qualifier, but as Serbia's chances of qualifying ended last night with a 2-2 home draw against Poland, the striker will not be called up to the Serbia squad.
Timmy Simons and Tommie van der Leegte are ruled out of Saturday's game against Excelsior and when all internationals have returned on Friday, PSV caretaker coach Jan Wouters will know for sure if they have come through the qualifying games unscathed.
The PSV first-team squad will train on Friday for the last time ahead of the clash with Excelsior and will fly to Russia on Sunday.
