Netherlands have been drawn in tough Euro 2008 group (PSV.nl)

On Sunday afternoon, the draw for the UEFA European 2008 championship in Austria and Switzerland has been made at the Culture and Convention Centre in Lucerne. The Netherlands have been drawn with Italy, France and Romania, who will provide tough opposition in a really heavy group C.

The Dutch team will play their Group C matches in Switzerland. The Oranje start their campaign on 9 June with a game against Italy. Four days later they take on France and Marco van Basten's team meet Romania on 17 June.
Hosts Switzerland will face the Czech Republic in the opening match of the tournament on 7 June at St. Jakob-Park in Basel in Basle. Russia, coached by Guus Hiddink, have been drawn in Group D with reigning champions Greece, Sweden and Spain. Leo Beenhakker is the third Dutchman to coach a national team at the Euro 2008. Don Leo' s Poland will play Austria, Croatia and Germany in Group B.
