Sef Vergoossen shared his views with the media for one hour, as he held his pre-match press conference for Saturday's visit to the Rotterdam Kuip to take on Feyenoord. The new PSV caretaker coach first of all explained why PSV had trained behind closed doors on Friday morning. 'I know from experience that it is an advantage to train behind closed doors. It's too bad for the press they were not allowed to see us train, but I think the training session has been very efficient.'

'We've been training hard all week without paying particular attention to the encounter with Feyenoord. This morning we tried out a few things at training and prepared thoroughly for tomorrow night's top of the table clash. I have already revealed the starting line-up to my players. It is always a challenge for any coach to make the squad perform to their maximum level during matches. We will make a fresh start after a relatively short break. I have put some players at another position, where I think they will perform better. I am happy we have bolstered our squad with the capture of Balázs Dzsudzsák, who will strengthen our attacking options on the left flank. He was impressive during the friendly against Fortuna Sittard.' Dzsudzsák has been called up to the eighteen-man squad to face Feyenoord along with Jan Kromkamp, who is available after he has recovered from his knee injury. Vergoossen explained: 'I am not calling up players who are not fit enough the play the full 90 minutes, so they may be handed starts.' Manuel da Costa has not received a call-up, as Vergoossen thinks the defender is not fit to make a comeback yet.
The new coach gave his players special tactical instructions, following the friendly against Fortuna and the short training camp in Genk 'As a coach, you should be cautious not to overdo things. To an extent, the players should motivate themselves, so I only explained my game plan to them and gave them some specific information', concluded Vergoossen, who has been able to analyse the squad and has a clear idea of where he wants to take the club. Feyenoord v PSV kicks off at 20:00.
