Ibrahim Afellay put in an impressive display when he was brought on as a substitute as Holland comfortably cruised to a 3-0 victory over Croatia on Wednesday evening.
Dzsudzsák played 45 minutes as Hungary were held to a 1-1 draw by Slovakia. Gera gave Hungary the lead after 54 minutes, but Slovakia leveled ten minutes later.
Danko Lazovic's Serbia drew 1-1 with Macedonia. Lazovic, who was taken off on the hour mark, was on target for Serbia, scoring a goal in three successive matches for his country.
PSV defender Carlos Salcido did not enjoy victory either, as Mexico and Team USA shared honours in a 2-2 draw. Salcido, who was handed a start, was replaced by Fausto Pinto after 58 minutes. Michael Bradley, player of sc Heerenveen, who will make a trip to the Philips Stadium on Saturday evening to take on PSV, played 61minutes for the United States of America before Freddy Adu came on to replace him.
Also in action yesterday evening was Timmy Simons. The captain of the Red Devils, who failed to qualify for the Euro 2008, played the first half in Belgium's 2-0 victory over Standard Luik in a friendly practise match. Mika Väyrynen played the full ninety minutes in Finland's 2-1 defeat against Greece in Cyprus. The Fins also slipped to a defeat against Poland, coached by Leo Beenhakker, earlier this week (1-0).
Género Zeefuik made an appearance for Holland Under-19 who beat their Scottish counterparts 2-1 in an international friendly. Zeefuik played the full ninety minutes.
The PSV players are expected to report back for training on Friday at 15:00, when they train behind closed doors to prepare for the vital Eredivisie clash against in-form sc Heerenveen at the Philips Stadium on Saturday night, kicking off at 19:30.
