Young sc Heerenveen ended Young PSV's five-game unbeaten run as they earned a 1-0 win over their Eindhoven counterparts in Heerenveen on Monday night. Both coaches added several first-team regulars to their line-up. Young PSV have dropped to sixth in the table.
Slobodan Rajkovic, Jason Culina, Tommie van der Leegte, Danny Koevermans, Fagner and Jonathan were all included in the Young PSV starting line up line up, while the coach of the Frisians offered a place in his starting line up Jakob Poulsen, Thomas Prager and Paulo Henrique.
The first half was an evenly contested affair, with both sides creating some chances. After the break sc Heerenveen put pressure on the PSV defence and Arnor Smarason opened the scoring on the hour mark. The hosts also had some chances to double their lead during the final thirty minutes.
Young PSV have dropped to sixth in the table, while Heerenveen have climbed to third place. Young PSV will be next in action on Monday, when Anton Janssen's team plays host to Young Sparta Rotterdam at De Herdgang training centre, kicking off at 18:30.
