PSV's Superleague Formula car, which is going to compete in the brand new global car racing competition called Superleague Formula as from August 2008, was back at the Philips Stadium. PSV sponsors and business partners got an opportunity to see the car, when it was revealed an official presentation at the Philips Stadium.
Wim Coekelbergs, manager of Azerti Race Automotive, is set to form the PSV racing team. The Belgian attended the presentation and made it emphatically clear at the presentation that he is most eager for a young talented Dutch driver to compete in the PSV car.

PSV is the only Dutch club that has pledged its commitment to participate in the Superleague Formula in 2008. Alongside PSV, AC Milan, RSC Anderlecht, Borussia Dortmund, Corinthians, FC Basel, Flamengo, Galatasaray SK, Sevilla FC, FC Porto, Olympiakos, Olympique Lyon and clubs from Mexico, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates have all signed contracts to take part in the competition. The SF bosses are in talks with other top clubs to complete a full 20 car field for the first race of the championship in August, 2008. Superleague Formula's inaugural race season will visit six major circuits across Europe, from August â€' November 2008. The first race will take place at Donington Park in the United Kingdom on August 30/31, 2008, while Race 3 will be at Zolder in Belgium, at an hour's drive from Eindhoven, on October 4/5, 2008.
All teams that compete in the Superleague Formula will use identical cars powered by a 750bhp 4.2-litre V12 engine. The racing cars will be able to hold their own with the best racing cars from the Formula I and ChampCar World Series, as far as speed and performance are concerned. Taking motor sport back to its roots, all cars and engines will be identical, thereby putting an emphasis on the team's performance and each driver's contribution, skill and ability. PSV attach their name and brand to the PSV race team, which will operate independently under the colours of the Superleague Formula. The championship is spearheaded by Spaniard Alex Andreu, a sports marketing specialist and entrepreneur who developed innovative media/communications Olympic Games and several other major sports events.
