PSV will meet VVV-Venlo, at the Seacon Stadium on Wednesday night, kick off at 8pm. VVV-Venlo, who were relegated to the Jupiler League last season, have invited Huub Stevens's team to play a Herman Teeuwen Memorial game, in memory of the beloved former VVV-Venlo player and scout.
Nordin Amrabat
Nordin Amrabat will meet up with his former team mates. The 21-year old forward scored ten goals in 33 appearances for the yellow/blacks last season. VVV-Venlo last played host to PSV on 20 January, when the ruling champions were held to a 1-1 draw. Balázs Dzsudzsák, who had joined PSV from Debreceni VSC in Hungary during the January transfer window, scored his first goal in PSV colours. PSV beat VVV-Venlo 3-1 in last season's reverse encounter in Eindhoven, courtesy of a Danny Koevermans double and a goal from Otman Bakkal. Amrabat played the full 90 minutes at the Philips Stadium, putting in an impressive display. VVV-Venlo have named Jan van Dijk as their new coach after André Wetzel had left Venlo to take over at newly promoted Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag.
Herman Teeuwen
VVV-Venlo want to keep the memory of club icon Herman Teeuwen alive by playing a memorial against a renowned opponent at the Seacon Stadium in Venlo during the pre-season campaign every year. The club icon, who added value to VVV for many seasons as a player and a scout, died in 2003. Last season, the memorial game ended in a 1-1 draw. PSV won the cup after a penalty shootout. Next Friday, the PSV squad will jet off to Portugal where they play a pre-season friendly against Sporting Clube de Portugal.
