Otman Bakkal, Dirk Marcellis and Erik Pieters, the players who represented PSV at the Olympic Games, rejoined PSV's depleted squad for a training session on Thursday morning as PSV continue preparations ahead of Saturday' s Super Cup clash against Feyenoord. Australian international Jason Culina was the only player who had returned from international duty. Head coach Huub Stevens only had only a depleted squad to work with on Thursday due to the flurry of international friendlies.
'Great experience'
The Dutch Olympic team were knocked out of Olympic Football Tournament by Argentina on Saturday. Two days after their quarter final defeat, the team returned to Holland. Head coach Huub Stevens gave the three PSV players two days' extra rest in order to acclimatize. The trio had mixed feelings, looking back at the Games. They referred to their Olympic adventure as 'a great experience', but added they will now fully focus on PSV and the kick-off of the new season, in two days' time. Stevens hopes to get a few more players back from international duty when PSV train this afternoon. The Mexicans Carlos Salcido and Francisco 'Maza' Rodríguez are not expected to resume training before Friday. PSV will hold one training session on Friday, at 2.30pm.
