The Brazilian Robert has introduced himself to the press in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium. PSV manager Guus Hiddink handed him his new PSV shirt with the number 29.Hiddink gave Robert a hearty welcome at a press conference. Robert, whose name in full is Robert de Pinho de Souza, said he was 'delighted to have joined PSV. The forward announced it was ‘an excellent opportunity to play football in Eindhoven'. When asked how he would describe himself as a striker Robert replied with the key-words 'quick and effective'. He hopes to take after his heroes Romario and Ronaldo. "I hope I can follow in their footsteps." He likes the attacking way of playing football in Holland. When the press conference was over, the photographers were given an opportunity to take pictures of Robert op the pitch. Down in the corridors of the stadium, the Brazilian stopped to have a look at the portraits of his country fellows Romario, Ronaldo and Vampeta. He liked the stadium a lot, but he was not the first Brazilian forward in the service of PSV who said that ‘it was cold outside!' Robert will train, together with his new team mates, tomorrow in preparation for the league encounter, away against RKC Waalwijk on Sunday afternoon.
