PSV coach Huub Stevens could not hide a feeling of disappointment at his side's 1-1 draw against Roda JC. 'We dominated proceedings but we were missing too many chances in the first half. Our team lacks consistency', said Stevens at the post-match press conference at the Parkstad Stadium.
Inconsistency
'We have again dropped two precious points, which is disappointing', said Stevens who rued his team's lack of consistency in the press room of his former club. 'We put in a convincing first-half display and entirely dominated proceedings. We created a hatful of chances and should have killed the game off in the first period. A lack of consistency sometimes lets us down. We have to start killing games off. We should have taken our chances in the first half, but could not prevent them from getting back in the game.' Stevens admitted that PSV's goal was a lucky one. 'We were lucky to win a penalty which was not a penalty, but had a strong appeal for another penalty waved away. We opened the scoring but conceded a goal in the same minute. Cássio Ramos made a mistake, but I don't blame him. We should have wrapped up the three points in the first 45 minutes. Cássio needs match practice and will learn from his mistakes.'
Harm van Veldhoven
Roda JC coach Harm van Veldhoven was satisfied with the 1-1 draw. 'PSV created a lot of problems for us in the first half. We were sloppy and were made to play long balls, as PSV closed us down. We improved after the break after we had made some tactical changes at half time. With an extra man in midfield, we had chances. I think we deserved a point in view of our second half display', concluded Van Veldhoven.
