World Cup 2010 qualifying matches
Mexico, the USA, Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador and Honduras have all booked a place in the final round of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers. On 28 March, Mexico will play hosts in Mexico City to Costa Rica, who beat Honduras 2-0 in their opening game.\
Isaksson, Toivonen and Dzsudzsák
PSV goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson kept a clean sheet in Sweden's 2-0 win over Austria in Graz on Wednesday in an international friendly. Sitting fifth in Group 1, Sweden's chances to qualify for the World Cup 2010 are limited.
Ola Toivonen featured eighty minutes in Young Sweden's 1-1 draw in Trieste against their Italian counterparts. Balázs Dzsudzsák's Hungary slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Israel. Hungary coach Erwin Koeman replaced the PSV winger twenty minutes from time. The only goal of the night was scored seven minutes later. Hungary, who will make a trip to face Albania on 28 March, are second in Group 1, with seven points after four matches.
Simons and Lazovic
A goal in each half from Bayern Munich defender Daniel Van Buyten earned Belgium a 2-0 win at home to Slovenia on Wednesday. Timmy Simons, who wore the captain's armband, played the full ninety minutes. Belgium will face Bosnia Herzegovina in a World Cup qualifying game on 28 March. Turkey are on top of Group 5, while Belgium are lying second. Danko Lazovic made two appearances for Serbia this week. He scored the second goal of Serbia's friendly win over Cyprus on Monday, but did not find the net in his country's 1-0 defeat against Ukraine on Wednesday night. Serbia, who are on top of Group 7, will meet Rumania on 28 March in a World Cup 2010 qualifying game.
Netherlands
Netherlands were held to a 1-1 draw by Tunisia in an international friendly on Wednesday. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar opened the scoring for the Oranje. PSV defender Dirk Marcellis did not leave the bench.
