As many PSV regular players are away on international duty, the players of the reserve team were invited to join the first team players that had stayed behind in Eindhoven for the Monday morning training session. Only six first team regulars - Eric Addo, Michael Lamey, Theo Lucius, Robert, Gerald Sibon and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink - were on the training pitch on Monday morning. Ibrahim Afellay was also on the pitch, but he trained on his own, supervised by a physio. After the players had done their warming-up and made fun during the traditional 'piggy in the middle', it was time for a game of football. Two teams were drawn up, with a mix of players from both teams. The technical staff must have been delighted to see how the youngsters held their own against the players of the established order. Quite a few trainers were on the pitch this morning. Not only Guus Hiddink, Fred Rutten and René Eijkelkamp were at work, but Gerald Vanenburg, Ernest Faber and goalkeeping trainer Joop Hiele also put in an appearance.
