PSV will face Top Oss in an Amstel Cup quarter final tie in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium on Thursday night. Assistant coach Fred Rutten was in charge of the pre-match press briefing, in the absence Guus Hiddink. Rutten emphasized that PSV take the cup tie against the First Division side seriously. Cup ties often throw up funny results from time to time and top teams have crashed out of the Cup against so-called lowlier opponents before. "So we will not bring about too many changes in our starting line-up. Obviously we want to collect as much silverware as possible." Wilfred Bouma and Johann Vogel took part in today’s training session, but are rested by the technical staff. Keeper Gomes did not join the squad for training today, but has been called up for the squad. Fred Rutten announced, however, that Edwin Zoetebier will deputize against TOP Oss. Gerald Sibon is ill and ruled out of Thursday night’s tie.
