Liverpool FC are the first side that has succeeded in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul in 25 May by beating Chelsea FC 1-0 at Anfield Road.Luis Garcia scored a controversial goal (it was hard to see whether the ball had crossed the line) inside four minutes and the team of coach José Mourinho could not make amends. Former PSV players Arjen Robben and Mateja Kezman were brought on in the 68th minute, but they could not put their side on level terms, either. Six minutes of injury time were added and in the very last minute Chelsea forward Eidur Gudjohnsen volleyed just wide of the goal. As the two teams had not been able to break the deadlock in the first leg at Stamford Bridge last week, Luis Garcia’s strike gave Liverpool a place in the UEFA Champions League final.They will meet either PSV or AC Milan. Tonight the Italian side will defend a 2-0 lead in Eindhoven.
