FC Barcelona and agent Rob Jansen have officially announced that 28-old Mark van Bommel has completed a three-year deal with the Spanish champions Barcelona. Official confirmationRonald Koeman, Romario, Ronaldo, Phillip Cocu and Boudewijn Zenden were all players that made a move from PSV to Barcelona before, so Van Bommel is the PSV sixth player that will be in the service of Barcelona. Media had reported for some time yet that Van Bommel was linked with the club that won the Spanish title last week, but the news had not been officially confirmed yet by player or club. So today it has been announced that the PSV captain is going to join the Dutch coaches Frank Rijkaard and Henk ten Cate. Defender Giovanni van Bronckhorst is another Dutchman in the Barça squad. TrophiesVan Bommel said goodbye to the crowd in the Eindhoven Philips Stadium last Sunday. He had a six-year spell with the Eindhoven side, during which he won the Dutch title four times. Van Bommel can add one piece of silverware to his impressive collection on 29 May next, when PSV meet Willem II in the Dutch Amstel Cup final.
