22-year-old Jordi Hoogstrate will be a player of the FC Emmen first team squad next season. The PSV midfielder took part in the training sessions of the First Division side at the end of last season. Today he joined his new team mates for the first pre-season training. GroningenPSV Manager Football Affairs Stan Valckx made the news public today. Hoogstrate, born in Groningen, was handed his debut as a professional football player on 18 March 2001, when the local team FC Groningen met N.E.C. He scored his first goal in December 2001, after he had been brought on as a substitute at home against FC Utrecht. The FC Groningen fans named him player of the year on 17 April 2002 and soon afterwards he made a move to PSV.His career was marred, when he suffered from psychic problems. However, he will be on the pitch next season again and Hoogstrate will be given an opportunity to show his skills at Emmen.
