"If you don't score goals yourself and your opponents take their chances, you know it's going to be tough", started FC Twente coach Coolen his analysis at the post-match press conference. "They deserved to win. We created opportunities, but we failed to take them." Rini Coolen admitted PSV fully deserved the win. "First of all we have to admit we deserved to lose. A number of our players made a comeback. N'Kufo returned from suspension and Gakhokidze met his former club. Gerritsen is knocking at the door and Touma is getting back to his old form, which enhances our attacking options. I would like to pay attention to some crucial moments. Gerritsen should have put us on top and we cruelly conceded a goal on 45 minutes. We had a great start to the second period and we could have leveled the tie in the fifth minute after he break, but again Gerritsen failed to finish. And PSV doubled the advantage. My players told me it was off side, but I couldn’t see it. PSV then took their foot off the pedal and yet they added a third goal. We had our moments, did our best to make it a game and we will now focus on the league game against RBC. This is an important encounter for us and we need all our players to get a good result." Guus Hiddink announced it is great to be active on three fronts. "Just like in the previous season, we take the Cup campaign very seriously. I must add, however, that we could have been trailing 0-1 within the first ten minutes, but Gomes pulled off a terrific save and kept us in the game. We controlled the game. We were sloppy at times and that’s something we should try to avoid. But we played some great football as well, particularly in the second period. This is another fine win. I am delighted we have reached the next round."
