AZ dropped two precious points as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw, at home against Vitesse last night, but Feyenoord collected a title-boosting 3-2 win over Ajax in the Rotterdam Kuip on Sunday afternoon. PSV now lead the Eredivisie table by five points over Feyenoord and their lead over AZ is five points. Feyenoord took the lead on 21 minutes, when Hofs was in the right place to collect a Kalou pass. Kalou was clearly in an off-side position, but the referee and his assistant failed to see it. One minute Rosenberg leveled the score. The Swedish striker, in the service of Ajax, connected well with an Emanuelson centre and Feyenoord keeper Lodewijks was completely surprised. The team coached by Erwin Koeman ruthlessly struck home on the verge of half time. Kuyt delivered the pass and Castelen slotted home. The first half was an equally contested game, but Feyenoord entirely dominated proceedings after the break. They virtually wrapped up the game three minutes into the second half and Kuyt took the celebrations. Huntelaar, who opened his scoring account for Ajax, pulled one back for the visitors in the final minute of official time. Final score: 3-2 PSV still lead the table by three points over runners-up Feyenoord. AZ trail the leaders by five points. Match day 23 is scheduled for next Wednesday night. PSV will be on the road to FC Utrecht; Feyenoord meet N.E.C. in Nijmegen and AZ travel to Roosendaal where they face RBC.
