Joop Brand is going to leave PSV (PSV.nl)

Joop Brand, Head PSV Youth Academy, has announced he is going to leave PSV at the end of the season. Brand has been in charge at De Herdgang for three seasons, "where we have done a great job." "The time has come to move", explained Brand, who had a meeting with the board earlier this week. "We have done a great job the past three years. We have the best equipped accommodation and we will have the best Youth Academy of the country or should I say we have the best Youth Academy of the country and some of our youngsters are on the verge of making first team appearances. I am proud of what the present staff has accomplished. I have never before cooperated with a youth committee, but things have been going really well since we started. It seems a short spell, but I know I have made some friends for life", said Brand when asked to comment on his departure. "I have always been in a good mood when I went to De Herdgang."Brand said that the obscure future plans are of the reasons he has decided to leave. At first he had considered helping his successor get used to his new job, but Brand has now decided not to do so. "I told the board at a pleasant meeting that I did not fancy waiting any longer. I have had a wonderful time here, but now I must move on. I feel privileged I can still do this kind of work."Brand revealed some of his future plans. "I don’t want to be in a car many hours a day any longer. I drove 85, 000 kilometers last year, which took me 1300 hours. "He joined us three years ago and he has changed the Youth Academy. I have always enjoyed our cooperation. Brand is a very experienced professional and he has proved he can change youth players into better players. He has contributed to improving the Youth Academy and I wish him all the best. I am quite sure the world of soccer will benefit from his advices in the future as well", concluded Verkerk on behalf of PSV.
