People in Halle are delighted Halle FC will play a memorial game against PSV in the Kurt Wabbel Stadium next week Friday. They will do their utmost to make this historic game a very special one. The club sent a match poster to PSV and announced many times they will extend a cordial welcome to their visitors. On their website it is said: ‘Champions League gastiert in Halle’ (= Champions League game in Halle) Hallescher FC will not charge fancy prices for a ticket. The most expensive ticket is ten euros. Many preparations and announcements are being made. Information on the memorial game is to be found in the match day programme, in newspaper reports, on the Halle FC website and in the commutation they have with PSV. Halle are delighted the ruling Dutch champions will be paying them a visit. The UEFA Cup-rückspiel (=return leg) will be kicked off on Friday 28 April at 19.00 pm. The scene of the action is the small Kurt Wabbel Stadium, which was built seventy years ago. Nearly 35 years ago Wolfgang Hoffmann, player of Chemie Halle, as the club was called in those days, was killed when a fire started in the hotel Tsilveren Seepaerd. The team were in Eindhoven for the European Cup III first round return leg, but the game was cancelled, as Chemie withdrew from the tournament.Hiddink would love to make a gesture and comply with the request to play a memorial game, made by Hallescher FC last year. PSV will fly to Halle on the match day and will return to Eindhoven next week Saturday.
