Three PSV players called up for provisional squad (PSV.nl)

Marco van Basten, coach of the Dutch national football team, has called up 33 players for the provisional squad that will take part in the World Cup 2006 in Germany. Among them are the PSV players Phillip Cocu, André Ooijer and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. Marco van Basten will announce his definitive squad on Monday 15 May next. Ten players will have to be dropped from this 33-man squad. A number of players of the provisional squad will take part in an extra training camp in Noordwijk from 6 till 12 May. The technical staff of the Dutch team will then take charge of the players that have no domestic league obligations any more. The names of the players that are invited for this training camp will be revealed in the first week of May.The 33-man squad will be reduced to 23 players on Monday 15 May. The coaches of the 32 participating associations at the 2006 FIFA World Cup will be obliged to submit their list of 23 players by 15 May at the very latest. The World Cup 2006 will be held in Germany from 9 June till 9 July.
