On sixteen minutes Australia earned their third corner that was taken by Marco Bresciano. The ball fell to Skoko, who hit a well-timed volley from some twenty yards into the top-left hand corner.Coach Guus Hiddink and his men had a dream start, but Greece squandered second half chances to score the equalizer. Australia held on, and will take off for Holland with feelings of greater self-confidence. Captain Mark Viduka was taken off on the hour mark and Archie Thompson left the bench to replace him. The Socceroos now head to a training camp in Mierlo in the Netherlands with friendlies against The Netherlands on June 4 and against Liechtenstein on June 7, before the opening match of its World Cup campaign against Japan on June 12.'Room for improvement'"I would say 70 per cent of our play was excellent, but it's the rest we need to focus on improving. It's very easy to say 'We've beaten the European champions'. We still have room for improvement, for details will be decisive at the World Cup games. It was a good win, but we are going to have to be tougher when we play Japan", announced Hiddink at the post-match press conference.
