Alexander Sakkers, the mayor of Eindhoven, paid a visit to De Herdgang training ground on Thursday morning. He was introduced to PSV head coach Ronald Koeman and then watched part of the training session from the touchline. Mr Sakkers gave Koeman a cordial welcome and had a cup of coffee with the PSV head coach. They then discussed several topics, such as the club’s expectations for the new season, fans of the club and PSV’s chances in the Champions League campaign. Mr Sakkers also announced he will do his utmost to preserve the technology project ‘Fit for Football’ (Philips, TNO, PSV and several companies), which supports football by means of innovative technical aids, for the town of Eindhoven. "This project should be carried out in this town", claimed the major. Although the mayor of Eindhoven is a busy man these days now that four aldermen are on holiday, he enjoyed his visit to the PSV sports grounds. He promised he would also come to see the PSV- FC Eindhoven pre-season friendly on Saturday night. Mr Sakkers also struck up a conversation with some fans, while keeping an eye on the training pitch.
