PSV earned a 4-0 win over FC Eindhoven in the Light Town derby on Saturday night. Ibrahim Afellay scored the opening goal in the first half; Mika Väyrynen, Arvid Smit and Arouna Koné found the net after the break in the Jan Louwers Stadium. The pace of the game was low. Both teams did not give their all and the crowd did not see entertaining football during the first half. Ibrahim Afellay opened the scoring from a well-taken free kick. FC Eindhoven threatened once, but the game did not spring into life until after the interval. Head coach Ronald Koeman made five changes during half time and Mika Väyrynen increased the advantage for PSV on 52 minutes.Arouna Koné, who resumed training earlier this week, was a constant menace to FC Eindhoven’s defence, but should have been more clinical with his finishing. The hosts also had their moments, but Moens kept a clean sheet. FC Eindhoven created at least five chances after the break. Simons, Koné and Fehér had also earned good opportunities, before Smit made it 0-3 on the hour mark with a well-struck effort. A few minutes later Koné converted a spot kick, after Aissati had been fouled in the box. PSV have registered a fourth win in their pre-season campaign, after beating Erp, Panningen and KVSK United before. "It was low key affair in the initial stages", admitted Koeman in the catacombs after the game. "Then we gradually took the initiative, but failed to take many chances when we were in a one-to-one situation. I thought the pace of the game was often too sluggish and we needed too much time to build up our attacks. We will start to work on that next Monday." PSV will head off to Stoke-on-Trent in England on Tuesday for a six-day training camp. The other internationals will join the squad on Monday. Eric Addo watched Saturday night’s game and latest signing Carlos Salcido was also in the stadium to see his new team mates in action for the first time.Stadium: Jan Louwers Stadion.Goals: (37) Afellay 0-1, (55) Väyrynen 0-2, (64) Smit 0-3, (68, penalty) Koné 0-4.PSV line-up:Gomes (46, Moens), Lamey, Alex (46, Reiziger), Da Costa (46, De Bock), Simons (61, Fehér), Väyrynen, Afellay (61, Smit), Aissati, Farfán (46, Koné) and Beerens (46, Beasley).
