The PSV first team squad usually has a day off on Wednesday, but this Wednesday morning they were on the training pitch, as they had to make an appearance at the annual PSV Phoxy Club day this afternoon. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was absent from training on Wednesday morning; the striker has been given permission to have talks with Celtic FC over a transfer. PSV and the club had already agreed a fee before. Mika Väyrynen, who is ill, was also absent at training. PSV prepare for the second league game of the current campaign. They will be in action on Sunday, when they travel to Enschede to take on FC Twente, where former PSV assistants Fred Rutten and René Eijkelkamp take charge this season. No training session is scheduled for Thursday. The UEFA Champions League group stage draw takes place on Thursday at 18:00.
